The Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service which has been caring for the Broome community for more than 45 years. When we first opened our doors in 1978, BRAMS was the first remote Aboriginal Medical Service in Western Australia.

We deliver comprehensive, holistic and culturally responsive primary health care, social and emotional wellbeing services, and NDIS support to more than 6500 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Broome region.

Job Description

BRAMS is seeking a Marketing and Communications Officer to join our Business Services Team.

This role supports the organisation to communicate effectively with community members, staff, and external stakeholders. The Marketing and Communications Officer coordinates marketing activities, social media content, newsletters, event promotion, and community messaging to ensure BRAMS programs and services are clearly communicated and culturally appropriate.

You will work closely with the Executive Management Team, program teams, and the BRAMS Graphic Artist to ensure all communications align with organisational priorities and brand standards.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience in marketing, communications, or a similar role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience coordinating social media platforms
  • Ability to work collaboratively and ensure content is culturally appropriate
  • Event coordination experience
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic familiarity with design tools
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism and attention to detail
  • Able to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with others
  • Organised and proactive
  • Creative thinker
  • Experience working in Aboriginal Community Controlled or community-based organisations (desirable)
  • Knowledge of local media networks (desirable)
  • Photography or video content skills for coordination with Graphic Artist (desirable)
  • Qualification in Marketing, Communications, or related field (desirable)
